How did they do the animation in Into the Spider-Verse? ›

Rather than relying solely on physically based simulations, the FX team created a reusable library of 2D hand drawn FX elements often also animated on twos. These hand drawn elements were combined with traditional 3D simulations to create a distinctly illustrative feel for FX elements such as explosions and fire.

In addition to the violent scenes mentioned above, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has some scenes that could scare or disturb children under 5 years. For example: There are a number of evil characters that may distress some young viewers.

When you increase the exposure of any frame, the layout and composition of said frame as well as any small details has a greater chance of sticking out in the viewers mind. Spider-Verse takes exceptional advantage of this fact because every little action in this film is like a beautiful work of pop art.
